Jeremie Zoungrana, Global ChampionJérémie Zoungrana is currently the Jhpiego Tanzania Country Director and has devoted much of his career to safe motherhood and newborn care. As a board member of White Ribbon Alliance, he has supported and promoted our efforts across multiple African and Asian countries, strengthening relationships between the government, private sectors, and civil society actors, and encouraging the integration of maternal and child survival programs within public health agendas.
Before joining Jhpiego in 2001, Jérémie worked with the Ministry of Health and Social Affairs and Handicap International where he held different responsibilities as Community Mobilization team Leader and Project Coordinator on two USAID-funded projects.
Working with the public and private sectors in sub-Saharan Africa since 1993, Jérémie’s efforts to promote safe motherhood have been recognized by the Global Health Council in 2002 and 2004, and the Global Secretariat in 2010. In addition, in 2004 the Government of Burkina Faso honored him with the presidential recognition, ‘’Chevalier de l’Ordre National’’ (Knight of the National Order).
