We were one of the founders of the Global Respectful Maternity Care Council – a community of 450 researchers, practitioners, advocates, policymakers, and programmers.
Together, we created and continue to promote the Respectful Maternity Care Charter. Grounded in human rights, this charter articulates the rights of women, birthing people and newborns when receiving maternity care within a healthcare facility. The Charter is a cornerstone of making respectful care a reality for everyone, everywhere.
