Safe Motherhood Network Federation

LOCATION: Nepal

The Safe Motherhood Network Federation (SMNF) of Nepal is an autonomous network, comprised of 700 members across 73 district branches, working to ensure that all women have access to the education and resources they need to realize their right to quality health and well-being. By ensuring that healthcare providers receive training in respectful maternity care, information on safe abortion services are easily accessible, and birthing centers are appropriately equipped for their patients, SMNF is ensuring that the right to safe motherhood is upheld for all women in Nepal. Headquartered in Kathmandu, SMNF is a registered federation that oversees program implementation, monitoring and evaluation, and capacity building for member organizations. SMNF members are registered organizations with the Social Welfare Council and the full list can be viewed on SMNF’s website.
